The BOBA Annual Reunion
(Normally the 3rd weekend in September)
Since the closure of the college, BOBA members, many with their Ladies, have met annually, usually on the third weekend in September, at a venue in the Chepstow area.  For many years this venue was 'The Chepstow Hotel', Newport Road, Chepstow.
Ex-apprentices will remember the hotel being named the 'The Two Rivers Hotel' then it became 'The Old Course Hotel' and then the 'The Chepstow Hotel'.  In Jan 2011 these premises were sold and demolished to make way for new premises, a Marstons Inn plus accommodation. These new premises have used the original name of The Two Rivers.  The reunion from 2012 onwards was held in the WO's & Sjt's Mess, Beachley Barracks and the hospitality suites of Chepstow Racecourse. We still use the Racecourse for the reunion dinner, AGM and heritage display but now use a venue in the centre of Chepstow for the Friday night social.

In order that you can attend any of the BOBA activities held during the reunion weekend i.e. Golf, Reunion Dinner, etc, you must first be a paid up member and have completed the forms contained in the current Reunion Details Booklet (found on this website) and return them to the Reunion Organiser, - Chris Ricketts.
Reunion Friday

The BOBA golf society now meet at the Bells Golf Club, Coleford for their annual tournament.  The social in the evening includes supper, where you can  meet up with old friends, enjoy each others company, chat or  swing the lamp over a drink or two.
Reunion Saturday

In the morning the BOBA Heritage Display takes place in the main venue.

The BOBA AGM is usually held early in the afternoon, where BOBA business from the previous and coming year, is discussed and voted upon.

In the evening the BOBA ANNUAL DINNER takes place when approximately 200 (pre-booked) members, including ladies, sit down for a pleasant three course meal.

Afterwards there follows an evenings entertainment where members can dance to a live group or disco in the function room.  Many dance into the early hours, whilst others have a great time just chatting, reminiscing and enjoying a social drink.
Reunion Sunday

Sunday rounds off the weekend with a mini 'Parade and March Past' on the parade ground in Beachley Camp (weather permitting).

The parade is followed by our Founders Day church service in St George's Church.

To complete a most enjoyable weekend, some members gather for lunch before departing homeward bound.
